Ewha–Fraunhofer RegMedAI Hub Hosts Korea-Germany 2+2 Project Meeting at Ewha

The Ewha-Fraunhofer RegMedAI Hub, a Korea-Germany 2+2 research project led by Prof. Jang-Hwan Choi as Principal Investigator, held a project team meeting at Ewha Womans University, bringing together academic and industry partners from both countries. The project combines AI, human stem cell-derived 3D cardiac organoids, and non-contact optical sensing to assess the harmful effects of drugs on the heart. This integrated approach aims to enable faster, more reliable cardiac safety screening and support safer, more efficient drug development. The Korean team included representatives from Ewha Womans University, Korea University, DT&CRO, and BIOSOLVIX. The German team included Dr. Ralf Kettenhofen, Senior Scientist and Group Leader at the Fraunhofer Institute for Biomedical Engineering IBMT, and Dr. Matthias Gossmann, CEO, and Dr. Britta Simons, Research Scientist, from innoVitro. The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss joint experimental plans and the next steps in the collaboration. We thank all our partners for their valuable contributions and look forward to advancing AI-powered cardiac safety testing together.
